Particle Simulation

A concrete environment covered with graffiti is suddenly invaded by strange particles.

The challenge was to create a video file that integrated computer-generated elements into real video footage in a believable way. I filmed an open and older stage in the park, which was covered with a lot of graffiti. This led to the idea of concrete balls rolling down the stage ramp as a particle simulation from a canal hole and then jumping through a hole in an adjacent wall, matching the look of the environment.

I realized this project with the help of the 3D tracking and matchmoving software 3DEqualizer. The particles were created with the 3D software Maya and the V-Ray Renderer. The compositing software After Effects was used to compose the final result. This one-shot video was produced in the first semester of my Master Interactive Technologies at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences.
